In what was a rare celestial event, the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter came together in a synchronized celestial dance in the skies across the world. The three heavenly bodies formed a triangle-like shape in the night sky as they came closer to each other.
Earth's mysterious twin Venus and the biggest planet in the solar system, Jupiter, are already inching close to each other as they head for conjunction on March 1. The Moon joined them early in the evening on Wednesday.
The planetary meet-up, also known as a conjunction, makes the two planets appear close together or even touch in the Earth's night sky. Despite being millions of kilometers apart, the planets seem to occupy the same space in the night sky because of their alignment.
People from across the world, including India, spotted the bright planets in the skies as they came closer to each other. Venus, currently, is the 3rd-brightest natural body in the sky, after the sun and moon. It is so dazzlingly bright that at times it can even be spotted in daylight.
